Essenza Intense Fruity is Frantoio Muraglia's monocultivar tribute to Coratina, the native Apulian olive that grows on the Murgia plateau around Andria. Picked early and cold-extracted within hours of harvest, it keeps the cultivar's signature power: a deep green, peppery oil layered with thistle, artichoke leaf, green almond and freshly cut grass. The bitterness and lingering pepper at the back of the throat are the taste of polyphenols — Coratina is one of Italy's most antioxidant-rich olives — and a marker of both freshness and health. Free acidity sits well below the extra-virgin threshold, the sign of sound fruit worked quickly and cleanly.
